Australian Michael “Pretty Boy” Zerafa 25-2 ( 14 KO’s) is peaking at the right time and in prime condition according to local media scribes.
Zerafa, who was recently handed a dream fight December 8 in Sheffield, England against former Welterweight Champion Kell Brook 37-2 (26 KO’s) has reportedly lifted a gear or two in camp and is in career best form.
“I’ve got two losses on my record, but that was years ago. I was a kid back then and very inexperienced. Now I’m a more complete fighter, more powSam Labruna who guides and trains Michael had the following to say; “Since coming to my gym Michael has really improved! I’ve been able to fix up a few things he wasn’t doing right, and I’ve been able to add a few things to his already impressive arsenal in attack. He’s a different fighter to the guy that fought Quillin in the USA three years ago. Michael is a genuine challenge to the top guys at 154 lbs.”
Zerafa has faced one Englishman previously in Adam Harper, who was undefeated at the time, for the Commonwealth title at 154lbs. Michael put on a boxing clinic to win a one-sided fight.
Michaels manager Brendan Bourke concluded; “It's a tough fight, the entire team knows this. That being said, Michael has been in outstanding form in the last few years, and he’s getting better each fight. He’s undefeated at this weight and dominating everyone we put in front of him. Michael has been 10 rounds five times and 12 rounds twice. He’s proven he deserves another big fighter, more speed & more boxing IQ” stated Zerafa.”
Michael continued. “I respect Kell Brook, he’s a great fighter, and he’s been at a higher level than me for longer, but that’s exactly why he’s looking past me. I’m ready to put on a show in England.”
