John Jackson facing 15 years in prison for allegedly raping minor and producing child pornography

Former middleweight world title contender John Jackson may never fight again.

Jackson (21-4, 16 KO's), of the U.S. Virgin Islands, who last fought on April 28, 2018, in a five-round unanimous decision loss against Eric Walker, is facing 15 years in federal prison on a multitude of sex charges.

According to Attorney Gretchen Shappert, Jackson was charged with two counts of production of child pornography, three counts of transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, one count of first-degree rape, and three counts of second-degree aggravated rape.

Jackson, who also faces a maximum $250,000 fine, also allegedly produced images of his sexual encounter with the 15-year-old female victim.

Jackson, 30, is the son of Hall of Famer Julian Jackson.

The charges against Jackson are being investigated by Homeland Security Investigations and the Virgin Islands Police Department.

Jackson challenged Jermell Charlo for the WBC junior middleweight title in May 2016. He was up 69-64 on all three scorecards, but Charlo connected with a vicious right hand to score an eighth-round knockout and joined his older brother Jermall as the first twins to hold world titles at the same time in the same division.

Jackson (21-4, 16 KOs) has only been averaging one fight per year since 2016.

He was knocked out by Jermell Charlo in eight rounds when they fought for the vacant WBC junior middleweight title in May of 2016.
