Brian Ortega vs. Yair Rodriguez
Brian Ortega and Yair Rodriguez are set to face off in the ring on July 16th at the upcoming UFC Fight Night event in Long Island, NY. Betting and UFC matches go hand and hand for many MMA fans. The Ortega Rodriguez fight is one of the biggest of the summer, so UFC enthusiasts will likely spend time checking the MMA betting odds to see whether their favorite fighter is expected to triumph. Ortega has had some impressive victories during his career, including wins over Frankie Edgar, Cub Swanson, and Chan Sung Jung. He's a two-time title contender who's consistently been at the top of the UFC rankings. Rodriguez has a 2-1 with one no-contest in his last four fights. Although he recently lost to Jeremy Stephens, he's considered a formidable competitor and one of the most exciting fighters. Defeating Ortega would be Rodiguez's biggest victory to date.
Alexander Volkanovski vs. Max Holloway
July 2nd is quickly approaching, and it's the day of one of the biggest fights this season as Alexander Volkanovski puts his title on the line as he goes up against Max Holloway at UFC 276. Fans worldwide will be anxiously awaiting the results of this rematch that promises to be one of the most thrilling rematches this year. Holloway and Volkanovski have met twice before, with Volkanovski winning both matches. Although Volkanovski emerged victorious in these bouts, the matches were no walk in the park, so we can expect Holloway to give his all and try to take the title from Volkanovski this time around. If Holloways wants to win, he'll have to find a way to land more strikes against Volkanovski this time.
Curtis Blaydes vs. Tom Aspinall
We've already witnessed some amazing fights this summer, and looking at the UFC schedule, there are no signs of it slowing down. On July 23rd Curtis Blaydes goes up against Tom Aspinall in one of the most anticipated fights of this year. Blaydes specializes in wrestling and is one of the most well-known contenders in the UFC's heavyweight division. He has an impressive resume having beaten some of the UFC's top fighters, including Junior dos Santos, Alistair Overeem, and Alexander Volkov. He is currently ranked #4 in his weight class and is looking to slow the rise of Aspinall, who's had a stellar run and is considered one of the hottest contenders in this weight class. Aspinall has gone undefeated in his last five matches with knockouts and submissions. The winner of this fight will become one of the top contenders for the heavyweight title if Francis Ngannou leaves the promotion, as expected, at the end of this year.
Juliana Pena vs. Amanda Nunes
We'll have to wait until July 30th for one of the biggest fights of the summer between Juliana Pena and Amanda Nunes. The second rematch on our list promises to be a thriller, with Nunes seeking to avenge her shocking loss to Pena last December. Until her defeat against Pena, Nunes was considered the GOAT of women's fighting. Fans could hardly believe their eyes when she faltered and ultimately fell to Pena in the second round during a rear-naked choke. We'll soon know if Nunes' new training regimen has paid off and given her the push she needs to defeat Pena this go around.
