Now that Jose Aldo has made his long-awaited debut in the professional boxing circuit, the door is wide open for a bout between him and Floyd Mayweather.

On Friday, February 10, Jose participated in his first professional boxing bout against 33-year-old Alberto Emmanuel Zambrano at the Nova Uniao Upper Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Judges scored the six-round long boxing battle 60-54, 59-55, and 60-54 all in favor of Aldo over his Argentine ring opponent. The former UFC featherweight champion's professional boxing career got off to an impressive start thanks to the unanimous decision victory.

But, for Zambrano, it was a terrible night because, in contrast to Jose, his boxing career is now at a deadlock as he suffered his fourth defeat in a row since making his professional boxing debut. Earlier in his career, the 33-year-old boxer, had suffered defeat against Joel Nazareno, Rodrigo Matias, and Alexis Torres.

In a recent interview with Guilherme Cruz from MMA Fighting on Friday, ‘Scarface’ shared the most recent developments regarding his fight with ‘Money’, and he expressed complete optimism regarding the possibility of a bout between the two.

“His side has already agreed and my side too. We’re now waiting for [the promoters] to get the deal done.” said the Brazilian.

Mayweather, whose frequent appearances in the ring as part of undercard fights after retiring from professional boxing show no signs of stopping, will now fight Aaron Chalmers in yet another exhibition bout on Saturday, February 25.
