"Unmissable Regional Showdown: Austin Brooks vs. Anthony Chavez to Headline Night of Thrilling Boxing at Emerald Queen Casino"
In a highly anticipated regional clash, undefeated super featherweight prospect Austin Brooks (10-0, 3 KOs) will go head-to-head with Anthony Chavez (11-3-1, 3 KOs) in the main event of a stacked fight card. This event, presented by Toro Promotions, Inc. and Whitfield Haydon Boxing, is scheduled for Saturday night, August 26, and will take place at the renowned Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, Washington.
Austin Brooks, a 27-year-old hailing from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, has been making waves in the 130-pound weight class. He's even had a few appearances on the ESPN platform. However, he has yet to go the distance of more than six rounds in any of his professional bouts.
Expressing his excitement, Brooks stated, "I feel blessed for the opportunity to headline this event. Facing a quality opponent in my first 10-round fight and being in the main event is a milestone I've been working towards, and I intend to make the most of this moment."
Anthony Chavez, representing Redlands, California, brings a wealth of experience to the ring. He earned a bronze medal at the 2015 USA National Championships and is known as a fighter in the classic mold. Chavez is under the guidance of the highly respected trainer Henry Ramirez.
Adding to the excitement, a rare showdown between two undefeated prospects will be featured in the co-main event. Jon Bryant (8-0, 2 KOs) and Axl Melendez Salgado (6-0, 4 KOs) will lock horns in a six-round battle. Bryant, fighting out of Bremerton, Washington, is coming off an impressive six-round decision victory over veteran DeMarcus “Chop Chop” Corley (52-35-1, 28 KOs), a former World Boxing Organization (WBO) Light Welterweight World Champion.
Promoter Azat Torosyan of Toro Promotions expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "We are thrilled to return to the Emerald Queen Casino. Tacoma, get ready for another unforgettable night filled with intense boxing action."
The undercard features six-round matchups including Seattle featherweight Gregory Cruz (5-2, 3 KOs) taking on Roberto Negrete (4-1-1, 2 KOs), an undefeated Portland super lightweight facing Filipino Jake “D’ Twins” Bornea (14-5-1, 7 KOs), the former WBO Asia Pacific Youth Flyweight titleholder. Additionally, Fife (WA) super middleweight Cameron “The Puerto Rican Bakugo” Seville Rivera will square off against the formidable Antonio “Ton The Beast” Hernandez (7-16-2, 4 KOs). The evening kicks off with a lightweight showdown as hopeful Josue Cadena faces California club fighter Dan Hernandez (2-2, 1 KO).
