Sampson Boxing Extends Partnership with Lightweight Edwin De Los Santos

Promoter Sampson Lewkowicz proudly announces the renewal of his enduring partnership with WBC and WBC #4, WBO #9, and IBF #10 lightweight contender, Edwin “La Granada” De Los Santos (16-2, 14 KOs).

Hailing from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, the 24-year-old De Los Santos, renowned for his potent southpaw style, has been a mainstay with Sampson Boxing for the majority of his career. His journey in the United States has been marked by triumphs on national television, notably defeating formidable opponents such as Luis Acosta (then 12-0), Jose Valenzuela (then 12-0), and Joseph Adorno (then 17-2-2).

Having clinched the WBC Continental Americas Lightweight Championship en route, De Los Santos's quest for the WBC World Championship faced a setback last November in a contentious decision against Shakur Stevenson.

Expressing his satisfaction with the renewal, De Los Santos remarked, “I am delighted to extend my partnership with Sampson. He has been steadfast in his support, fulfilling every promise made for my career. Our bond has transcended beyond business; we're akin to family. I eagerly anticipate another shot at the world title, hoping for a fair fight this time.”

Echoing the sentiment, De Los Santos's trainer turned manager, Humberto “Chelo” Betancourt, affirmed his contentment in maintaining the cohesive team for another championship pursuit. “Having collaborated with Sampson for over two decades, I've witnessed his unwavering commitment. Edwin is a phenomenal athlete, dedicated to his craft. It’s only a matter of time before he ascends to the summit of the lightweight division.”

Lewkowicz, renowned for uncovering talents like De Los Santos worldwide, expressed his delight in continuing to nurture the Dominican fighter's career. “Edwin De Los Santos is an exceptional talent and an individual of integrity. He has never shied away from any challenge presented to him and possesses the caliber to reign as a formidable champion. I’m thrilled that he has opted to remain with Sampson Boxing, eagerly anticipating the plethora of future achievements awaiting him in his journey.”
