Josh Taylor and Jack Catterall are set to face off once again in one of the most highly anticipated rematches in British boxing. Over two years have passed since Taylor's controversial split decision victory, but after numerous delays, the stage is finally set for their showdown.
Despite a recent loss to Teofimo Lopez in his only fight since their last encounter, Taylor remains confident in his ability to compete at 140lbs. Meanwhile, Catterall is determined to prove he still has the edge over the Scottish fighter.
In their first bout, 'El Gato' surprised many by aggressively challenging Taylor in Glasgow. The decision to award the victory to Taylor, then the undisputed super-lightweight champion, sparked significant controversy and even prompted an investigation by the British Boxing Board of Control.
The rematch, Taylor vs. Catterall 2, is scheduled for Saturday, May 25, 2024, at the First Direct Arena in Leeds. The main card will begin at 7pm BST, with the main event ring walks set for 10pm.
