Fast-rising Dominican featherweight Yan "Dangerous" Santana has signed a long-term co-promotional deal with Top Rank, joining forces with Miguel Cotto Promotions and H2 Entertainment to further his career.
Santana (13-0, 12 KOs), known for his knockout power, looks to secure his 14th professional victory in a 10-round bout on Saturday, March 29. He will be featured on the undercard of the highly anticipated Mikaela Mayer-Sandy Ryan II showdown at Bleaulive Theater at Fontainebleau Las Vegas.
“Yan Santana is a sensational talent who is well on his way to becoming a dominant presence in the featherweight division and beyond,” said Top Rank Chairman Bob Arum. “I look forward to working with Miguel Cotto and his team to help guide Yan to the championship level. He has everything it takes to become a Dominican boxing legend.”
Grateful for the opportunity, Santana expressed his confidence in his future. “I am thankful to God and my team for allowing me to showcase my talent on a global stage. I have what it takes to become a world champion, and soon, everyone will know who ‘Dangerous’ Santana is,” he said.
Miguel Cotto Promotions President Hector H. Soto echoed the sentiment, calling Santana the Dominican Republic’s top boxing prospect. “Since we discovered him in 2022, we have never doubted his abilities. Now, with our partnership with Top Rank, he is one of the most important prospects in the featherweight division,” Soto said.
Santana turned professional in September 2021 and quickly made a name for himself with six stoppage victories in his homeland in under 14 months. Throughout 2023 and early 2024, he continued his rise, delivering five more knockouts on Miguel Cotto Promotions events in Puerto Rico.
His explosive power was on full display in his Top Rank on ESPN debut last June, when he dropped Colombian veteran Brandon Valdes in the first round before securing a dominant 10-round unanimous decision. He followed that performance with a fourth-round knockout of former world title challenger Eduardo Baez in November.
As Santana prepares for his March 29 bout, his partnership with Top Rank signals a major step toward title contention, further solidifying his status as a rising force in the featherweight division.
