LA Friday Night Fights is back in action on Friday, June 20, as Paco Presents, Golden Boy Promotions, and Robert Garcia’s House of Champions team up once again to deliver the second installment of the acclaimed boxing series, live from Thunder Studios in Long Beach, California. The show will stream globally on DAZN at 9:00 PM ET / 6:00 PM PT.
Headlining the event is a can’t-miss 10-round super middleweight showdown between Reading, PA’s David “Dynamite” Stevens (14-2, 10 KOs) and undefeated Russian Olympian Petr “The Surgeon” Khamukov (13-0, 6 KOs), who now resides in Woodland Hills, CA.
MAIN EVENT SPOTLIGHT: STEVENS VS. KHAMUKOV
A decorated amateur and rising contender, David Stevens enters this fight with something to prove. The 24-year-old earned national attention after handing the previously undefeated Sean Hemphill his first loss via eighth-round KO in January 2023. Stevens also showed grit in his most recent outing — a close split decision loss to world-ranked Bektemir Melikuziev.
“I’ve stayed in the gym and stayed focused,” said Stevens. “This is my chance to remind everyone that I belong at the top. Thanks to Golden Boy for the opportunity — I’m ready to make a statement.”
Across the ring, Petr Khamukov brings elite pedigree and an unbeaten record. A 2016 Olympian and former European and Russian National Champion, Khamukov has amassed over 115 elite-level amateur bouts and holds a professional win over veteran Vaughn Alexander. His last outing saw him stop Esau Herrera de la Cruz in three rounds.
“This is the kind of fight I’ve been waiting for,” said Khamukov. “David is tough, but I’m here to prove there are levels to this. I’m called ‘The Surgeon’ for a reason — and I’ll show that on June 20.”
