Rising Dominican star Euri Cedeño (11-0-1, 10 KOs) has signed a long-term co-promotional agreement with Top Rank, who will now work in partnership with King’s Promotions to guide the 25-year-old middleweight’s promising career.
Cedeño, a 2020 Tokyo Olympian and one of the most explosive talents to emerge from the Dominican Republic in recent years, will return to the ring in a scheduled 10-rounder against Ecuador’s Abel Mina (18-3-1, 9 KOs) on Saturday, June 7 at Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia.
The bout will air on the ESPN+ undercard to the ESPN-televised WBO lightweight world title main event between reigning champion Keyshawn Davis and former title challenger Edwin De Los Santos.
“Euri Cedeño is one of the most complete fighters to come out of the Dominican Republic in recent years,” said Top Rank Chairman Bob Arum. “He has the amateur pedigree, the poise of a seasoned professional, and the skill set to become a true contender in the middleweight division.”
Cedeño joins a growing list of Dominican standouts on the Top Rank roster, including Elvis Rodriguez, Rohan Polanco, and Yan Santana, forming a formidable wave of Caribbean talent.
“This is a great honor and the beginning of a new chapter,” said Cedeño. “This opportunity with Top Rank and King’s Promotions comes after years of hard work — over 400 amateur fights, an Olympic campaign, and now 11 wins as a pro. But I know I’ve still got more to prove. My journey to the world title starts in Norfolk on June 7.”
A Fighter Built from the Ground Up
Born into boxing, Cedeño picked up the sport at just five years old under the watchful eye of his late father, Aquino Cedeño, a legendary trainer in the Dominican Republic. Aquino helped mold both Euri and his brother, Hendri, into elite amateurs. Euri compiled over 400 bouts in the unpaid ranks before delaying his pro debut in 2021 to represent his country in Tokyo.
Since turning professional in October 2022, Cedeño has built an impressive record that includes six straight knockouts to open his career. His only blemish — a 2024 draw against fellow unbeaten Dayan Depestre — was followed by a strong rebound win and five consecutive stoppages, including a devastating first-round KO of Ulices Tovar Rivera in March.
“I’m very excited about this co-promotion with Top Rank, which has long been the gold standard in boxing,” said Marshall Kauffman, CEO of King’s Promotions. “Euri Cedeño is a future star, and with the expertise of Brad Goodman and Bruce Trampler behind his matchmaking, I believe he’s on the path to multiple world titles.”
