    • 27-year-old Ramon Cardenas, known as "Dinamita," is making a triumphant return to the boxing ring in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas. The Super Bantamweight with an impressive record of 22 wins and 1 loss (11 wins by knockout) is set to face off against the undefeated Panamanian prospect Rafael Pedroza, who holds a record of 15 wins and 0 losses (11 wins by knockout). This highly anticipated 10-round main event match will take place at the Boeing Center at Tech Port and will be broadcast live on Showtime on Friday, September 15th. The bout is part of the renowned SHOBOX series by Showtime, which has a storied history of producing more than 75 world champions. The victor of this clash is sure to be fast-tracked towards championship contention. Cardenas has previously fought twice in his hometown, securing two victories, one of which was achieved by knockout. In his most recent match at the Smoke Bar on May 26th, he impressively stopped veteran Rodrigo Guerrero in the second round. Prior to that, he outpointed Michell Banquez over 10 rounds at the Alamodome in July. This fight took place on the undercard of Rey Vargas's triumph over Mark Magsayo. Cardenas' previous appearance in San Antonio was in late 2018, where he outpointed local fellow boxer Ramsey Luna. Notably, Cardenas clinched the vacant NABA super bantamweight belt in 2021 by outpointing Angel Antonio Contreras, before transitioning to the 118-pound division in 2022. Facing Cardenas is his formidable opponent, 26-year-old Rafael Pedroza. Pedroza comes into this match with newfound confidence following a significant victory in his career. He managed to outpoint the Venezuelan knockout artist Yerny Betancourt over the course of 10 rounds, securing the WBC FECARBOX Super Bantamweight title in May. Another noteworthy win in Pedroza's record is an 8-round points decision against Hugo Berrio in January.
