Smith (16-0, 12 KOs) was last seen in March, when he halted Jose Zepeda. This marks his first shot at the European belt, adding to a résumé that already includes British and Commonwealth crowns. Ouizza (19-2, 8 KOs), who has captured various European belts but never the full EBU title, suffered his only two defeats early in his career—both on points over eight rounds to Brian Bassole and Sandy Messaoud. In July, he recorded a 10-round decision over Bryan Venant Fanga, extending his undefeated streak to 11.
