Epic Showdown Set for “EQC Fight Night” at Emerald Queen Casino on Oct 19

A high-stakes, heavyweight showdown is set to headline “EQC Fight Night,” presented by Toro Promotions, Inc., and Whitfield Haydon Boxing, on Saturday, October 19, at the EQC Event Center, located in the renowned Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, Washington.

In the night’s highly anticipated main event, the towering 6’ 4”, 290-pound Kinsley “The Black Lion” Ibeh (12-2-1, 10 KOs) will square off against the formidable 6’ 8”, 260-pound Jack “The Outlaw” May (10-0, 9 KOs) in a 10-round bout for the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) Latino Silver Championship.

Ibeh, originally from Nigeria and now fighting out of Phoenix, Arizona, has an athletic background that includes stints in college football and the Canadian Football League. He is also the cousin of the legendary Ike Ibeabuchi (20-0, 15 KOs). Ibeh enters this fight riding an impressive eight-fight win streak, with his last defeat coming at the hands of then-undefeated rising star Jared Anderson in 2021. Most recently, Ibeh stopped Juan Torres in the second round at the same venue this past June 15.

May, fighting out of Chino Hills, California, boasts an equally impressive resume. He has a perfect 10-0 record with nine knockouts, and his combat sports experience extends beyond boxing to kickboxing and bare-knuckle fighting. In his last outing, May secured a first-round technical knockout victory over John Shipman on August 29 in Costa Mesa, California.

“They are both true warriors,” said matchmaker Whit Haydon. “When the fight was offered, their only questions were ‘when and where?’ They’re ready to put on a show, and with the venue almost sold out, fans in the Pacific Northwest—the best in the business—are in for an unforgettable night.”

Both Ibeh and May are part of Toro Promotions’ deep roster of heavyweight talent, which includes Ukrainian Olympian Tsotne “Mr. T” Tsotne (10-0, 7 KOs), Alexander “The Great” Flores (19-5-1, 17 KOs), and Dante Stone (17-1, 11 KOs). Unlike many other promoters, Toro isn’t afraid to pit their top fighters against each other. For instance, Tsotne recently defeated Flores via unanimous decision in a 10-round bout.
