Prelims Highlight: Cuello vs. Olivo
The action kicks off with Mirco Cuello (14-0, 11 KOs), an undefeated Argentine featherweight contender, taking on Christian Olivo (22-1-1, 8 KOs) in a 10-round battle. Cuello, a former Olympic athlete and 2018 Youth Olympic Games bronze medalist, has impressed fans with his power and skill since turning pro in 2020. With 11 knockouts in his first 12 fights, Cuello enters this bout with a reputation for finishing opponents quickly.
“This is the most important fight of my career,” Cuello said. “I’m coming in ready to make a name for myself and show everyone I’m a serious contender in the featherweight division.”
Olivo, a veteran of the ring, is aiming to make a statement in his second U.S. appearance after defeating the previously undefeated Kevin Barron Crespo in September 2023.
“This is my chance to step up and show the world that I belong at the top,” Olivo remarked.
Prelims Opening Fight: Hernandez vs. Ruiz
In the opening bout of the prelims, rising middleweight star Yoenli Feliciano Hernandez (6-0, 6 KOs) will face the tough Angel Ruiz (18-3-1, 13 KOs). Hernandez, who hails from Cuba, has built a reputation as a knockout artist, finishing all six of his opponents to date. With a background as an amateur standout, including a gold medal at the 2021 AIBA World Boxing Championships, Hernandez is quickly making a name for himself as a future force in the middleweight division.
“I’m focused on this opportunity to showcase my skills on a major card,” Hernandez said. “I’m ready to prove that I’m the future of the middleweight division.”
Ruiz, a veteran with a reputation for action-packed bouts, is no stranger to tough competition. He has faced several unbeaten fighters and former champions in his career, including a knockout win over former champion Luis Collazo in 2023.
“I’m bringing everything I’ve got,” Ruiz stated. “Expect nothing less than an exciting, action-packed fight. I’m here to make my mark.”
