Details::

Pound for pound fighter Sergey Kovalev takes on Isaac Chilemba for the WBA Super World light heavyweight, IBF World light heavyweight and WBO World light heavyweight titles. The fight will only be Kovalev's third in is home Russia. He has fought most of his career in the USA. This fight feels more like a "keep busy" match for Kovalev.

Sergey Kovalev

Its not a mistake that Kovalev is fighting Chilemba. There are clearly better opponents in the light heavyweight division than Chilemba. However Chilemba is there to prepare Kovalev in the style similar to Andre Ward. The fight that everyone wants to see and may happen this coming November. Again this is a "stay busy and prepare" fight for the Unified light heavyweight world titleholder. I don't see this fight going the distance and expect Kovalev to get the KO.

Isaac Chilemba

Isaac Chilemba is coming off a lost to Eleider Alvarez this past Nov. The bout ended in a MD with scores: judges: Richard DeCarufel 114-114, Peter Hary 110-118, Nathan Palmer 113-115. Chilemba was on a four win streak before the Alvarez fight. While Chilemba is not a big puncher he is a very busy and slick fighter in the ring. He has great defense and if there is any chance of beating Kovalev he will need this defense and counter when he can.
