Alexander Povetkin vs Mike Perez Preview

This heavyweight clash between some big-hitters Alexander Povetkin and Mike Perez will be aired on BoxNation Friday, May 22 (UK), 12:30 pm EST. The winner maybe who will be next up for a shot at Deontay Wilder’s WBC title. They share only a single defeat each on their records.

Povetkin will be fighting in front of his home fans and is coming 2 knockouts and a lost against the legendary Wladimir Klitschko two years ago. He’s coming off of a 10th round knockout win over contender Carlos Takam last October in Moscow to capture the WBC Silver heavyweight title. He takes on the well schooled Cork based Cuban Perez who has 21 victories, with his one loss a narrow split decision to Bryant Jennings.

The heavyweight division has been on the rise of late with new blood who are eager to put an end to the past decade of Klitschko dominance.

Povetkin vs Perez will meet @ Luzhniki Arena in Moscow as they compete in a final eliminator for a chance to fight for the WBC green belt which was won by Wilder earlier this year when he defeated Bermane Stiverne.
