Mexican Emmanuel 'Chicken' Lopez will defend his interim WBA super featherweight crown against Panama's Rolando Giono on June 20th in Comitan, Chiapas, an event brought to you by Zanfer and to be telecasted by AztecaTV 7, the House of Boxing.
It will be the first defense of Lopez (18-4-1, 7 KO's), who was crowned last March 21st by knocking out Colombian Carlos 'Batey' Padilla in nine rounds. He is coming off three consecutive knockouts. "I'm very happy to be fighting in front of my people. I can assure you that will go out and defend my championship," said Lopez. Lopez, who began his professional boxing career in July 2010 with a knockout win over Marco Monjarez said he knows Rolando Giono has good boxing and speed.
'The Tractor' Giono has had most of his fights in Panama and besides being qualified as a very skillful boxer with traditional Panamanian school, he has never been knocked out.
Miguel "Scorpion" Berchelt will take on Sergio Puente in the co-feature in a ten rounds bout super featherweight division. This should be a good fire fight.
