Result: Alvarez defeats Prieto

In a fight of undefeated light heavyweight, 2008 Olympian Eleider Alvarez (18-0, 10 KOs) won a hard fought twelve round unanimous decision over Isidro Ranoni Prieto (24-1-3, 20 KOs) on Saturday night at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada. Scores were 117-111, 117-111, 117-111. In the first round bother fighters started out strong trying to established the jab. Prieto landed a big counter hook at the end of the round. Round two was much of the same. Boxing into the third Prieto was pressing the fight, Alvarez established the jab & Prieto landed big to shake Alvarez a bit. Lots of action in round four both fighters connected well. Things really picked up in round six when Prieto landed big and shook Alvarez. There was some great combinations landed, however toward the end of the round things calmed down as Alvarez weather the storm. In the end Alvarez was the better fighter.
