Quintero, knocked Fontanez down twice in the fifth round, Fontanez answered the count on both time, but after absorbing several hits, Fontanez's corner ended the fight giving Quintero the technical knockout victory.
This puts Quintero, as the new NABF Lightweight champion and lines him up for a bigger fight later this year. Quintero is looking to rebuild his boxing career, he is three for three in his last six fights. Quintero trained with Humberto Soto, leading up to the Fontanez bout. "I had the best training camp of my career. I trained alongside Humberto Soto for a month in Toluca. We sparred many rounds against each other." said Quintero.
