Junior welterweight Lucas Matthysse will look to win the WBC junior welterweight title this Saturday night when he takes on Viktor Postol. Matthysse is coming off a huge victory over the tough Ruslan Provodnikov and is looking to keep his win streak going.
Matthysse's last loss was in 2013 against Danny Garcia. Matthysse was in control of the fight before a jab from Garcia closed his eye in the sixth round. After that Garcia took control of the fight and ended up with the victory. Since then Matthysse has built up a win streak and fan base that has him in line to possible face Manny Pacquiao early next year. First up though, is Viktor Postol.
"My inspiration is to be a world champion, to fight the best fights. That's inspiration for me." Matthysse stated.
"I have wanted to be a world champion since I was a little boy and Saturday night I will have the chance to make this dream come true."
"I am very happy to be fighting in the Los Angeles area for this fight. It is a great honor for me to have the support of the Latin people here in the United States, coming all the way from Argentina."
