Luis Cosulito, Victor Proa Set To Get Down In Guadalajara

Luis Emanuel Cusolito squares off tonight against Victor Proa in a crossroads bout between fringe junior featherweight contenders.

The 10 round bout will take place at the Arena Jalisco in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.

Cusolito (24-2, with 19 KOs) has not fought since winning a hard-fought 12 round split decision over Guillermo Soloppi on Sept. 23 in his hometown of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Cusolito has won his last three bouts since being stopped by former interim WBA World junior featherweight titleholder Moises Flores in the final round in September of 2015.

Proa (28-2-2, with 21 KOs), who hails from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, was knocked out in his last fight in the second round by unbeaten contender Joseph Diaz on July 30. His other loss came back in November of 2008, when he lost by knockout in the opening round to Raul Martinez.

Unbeaten Bryan Figueroa faces Marcelino Hernandez in an eight round clash of Mexican lightweights.

Figueroa (11-0, with 4 KOs) has won his last four bouts by decision, while Hernandez (8-2-4, with 2 KOs) is winless in his last three bouts.

Unbeaten welterweight Rudy Macedo (4-0, with 3 KOs) of Uruguay squares off against Carlos Encinas (3-2-5 1 NC) in a six round bout.

Saturday's card will be a co-promotion between Sampson Lewkowicz and Osvaldo Chavez.
