Chavez vs Garcia headline Saturday in Mexico

Omar Chavez, son of Mexican ring legend Julio Cesar Chavez and brother of former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. set to fight Roberto Garcia this weekend. The fight will take @ Gimnasio Nuevo Leon Unido Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico and air live on Mexico Azteca & USA beIN Sports en Espanol.

This is a fight that both fighters need to prove that their careers still have some life left. They are looking to make a statement and move up once again to fight some top level guys. Chavez hopes that a victory over Garcia will bring him closer to a title shot at 154 pounds. Its Chavez most dangerous fight of his career.

Omar Chavez fought this past April against Ramon Alvarez winning by a TKO in round two. He has three loses on his record, Ramon Alvarez, and twice to Jorge Paez Jr . He started his professional career in 2006 that looked very promising until his lost again Jorge Paez Jr in 2011. This seemed to have triggered a couple of questionable fights. Chavez lost again to Jorge Paez Jr in 2012. After seeming to bounce back fighting a few decent names like Joachim Alcine & Daniel Sandoval. His last fight in a rematch with Alvarez he scored a spectacular stoppage.

Roberto Garcia is on a 12 consecutive win streak since 2010 when he lost to Antonio Margarito. Before the Margarito he had not lost since 2004. Roberto Garcia is a dangerous puncher that can end a fight quickly.

This should be a must watch for those who can see the fight.
