Derrick Webster stopped Lamar Harris

Fringe super middleweight contender Derrick Webster stopped veteran Lamar Harris late Saturday night at the Claridge Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

With the win, the southpaw Webster improves to 24-1, with 13 knockouts. Harris, who hails from Saint Louis, Missouri, falls to 9-14-4, with 5 KOs.

Webster, who resides in Glassboro, New Jersey, utilized his seven-inch height advantage to rain punches down on Harris. A barrage of punches hurt Harris, prompting referee Shada Murdaugh to stop the fight at 26 seconds.

Webster has now won his last five bouts since suffering his only defeat at the hands of Arif Magomedov in July of 2015. Harris is now win less in his last three bouts.

Unbeaten heavyweight Zhilei Zhang stopped Nick Guivas in the opening round.

Zhang, who won a silver medal at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, dropped Guivas (13-8-2, with 9 KOs) twice before referee Shada Murdaugh stopped the bout at 2:43.

Zhang has now stopped his last six opponents, five of those in the fifth round.

Former light heavyweight contender Prince Badi Ajamu (28-3-1, with 15 KOs) returned to the ring for the first time in over eight years, winning a one-sided eight round decision over Edgar Perez.

Scores were 80-72, 80-72, and 79-73 in favor of Ajamu, who will turn 46 years old on Jan. 24.

The 38-year-old Perez falls to 7-22, with 3 KOs.

Hard-hitting cruiserweight Mike Hilton won a six round unanimous decision over Willis Lockett (14-21-6, with 5 KOs). Scores were 60-53, 60-54, and 58-56 for Hilton, who improves to 7-0, with 6 KOs.
