Anthony Joshua: If undisputed champion, I want to fight Oleksandr Usyk!

Unbeaten unified heavyweight world titleholder Anthony Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn stated Friday that fellow undefeated WBC titlist Deontay Wilder will be offered two fights with the Englishman, but Joshua is already thinking about what's next if he becomes the undisputed champion.

Joshua (22-0, 21 KO's), a 2012 Olympic gold medalist, who won three heavyweight titles with an April 2017 knockout of all-time great Wladimir Klitschko, wants a shot at undisputed cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (16-0, 12 KO's).

"If I was the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, I would want to fight Usyk because he is the undisputed cruiserweight champion," Joshua told Sky Sports.

"It would be a legacy fight. Then [Tyson] Fury, and then [a rematch with] Dillian [Whyte]."

Usyk, who also captured Olympic gold in 2012 as a heavyweight, has defeated three world champions in 2018 alone -- all in their home countries.

Usyk scored a majority decision over former unified world champion Maris Breidis in January, a lopsided unanimous decision against previously unbeaten unified titlist Murat Gassiev in July, and an electrifying eighth-round knockout of now-retired former champion Tony Bellew in recent weeks.

Usyk traveled to Latvia, Russia, and England for the fights.

Hearn also said in recent days that Usyk could be ready to fight Joshua by next fall.
