Wilder-Fury II breaks heavyweight gate record

LAS VEGAS – The rematch between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury is officially a record-breaker.

According to Top Rank officials, the live gate will surpass the previous American American heavyweight record set by the Lennox Lewis-Evander Holyfield rematch in 1999, also in Las Vegas. That fight gate was $16.88 million. The figures for Wilder-Fury II are not final, but as far as we know, it will be greater than Lewis-Holyfield II.
