Ryan Garcia is risking it all.
Following reports the April 22 superfight between the rising Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia was in jeopardy because of a dispute over the rematch clause, Garcia and team have decided to go all-in.
FightNights.com has learned both fighters are contractually obligated to a rematch only if Garcia defeats Davis in their 12-round, 136-pound bout in Las Vegas
If Davis loses, he will then have the option of exercising his contractual right to an immediate rematch within a certain time frame following their fight. If Garcia loses, Davis won’t have to fight him again.
Davis, 28, and Garcia, 24, confirmed Friday their highly-anticipated fight will officially place. The targeted date for their fight had long been April 15, but it was ultimately pushed back a week.
Three Las Vegas venues – the Raiders’ Allegiant Stadium, MGM Grand Garden Arena and T-Mobile Arena – are under consideration for what appears to be the biggest fight on the 2023 schedule.
