The middleweight showdown featuring Hamzah Sheeraz and Liam Williams has been rescheduled and is now slated to take place on Saturday, February 10th, at London's Copper Box Arena, airing live on TNT Sports.
Originally planned for early December, the clash between the unbeaten Sheeraz and former world title contender Williams was postponed due to Sheeraz's training injury—a perforated eardrum—that pushed the fight into 2024.
This pivotal match, set to be the toughest challenge of Sheeraz's professional career so far, is back on track. Sheeraz is diligently preparing in Los Angeles alongside trainer Ricky Funez at the Ten Goose Boxing Gym, having been there for the past week.
During Sheeraz's recovery phase, Williams, at 31 years old, demonstrated his formidable prowess by swiftly dispatching Florin Cardos at York Hall in late November.
Now with a new confirmed date, both fighters have temporarily set aside their festive celebrations. Promoter Frank Warren expressed his anticipation: “The Copper Box on February 10 promises something truly exceptional. It's a classic clash between youth and experience, pitting a rising young fighter against one eager to prove his continued dominance.
“This bout sets the stage for an electrifying start to 2024, just a week before the highly anticipated undisputed heavyweight showdown between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk in Riyadh.”
