Jack Catterall Withdraws from August 24th Bout with Regis Prograis Due to Injury

Super lightweight contender Jack Catterall has withdrawn from his scheduled August 24th bout with Regis Prograis due to an undisclosed injury. Both fighters have indicated that the match will likely be rescheduled for October.

Matchroom has not yet announced if the undercard will follow the main event to the new date. The current lineup includes Rhiannon Dixon vs. Terri Harper, Johnny Fisher vs. Andrii Rudenko, as well as appearances by Pat McCormack, William Crolla, Campbell Hatton, and Joe McGrail. Although not a particularly stacked undercard, the show is set to run unopposed on the original date, which could still draw a decent audience.

Catterall (29-1, 13 KO) was riding a wave of momentum after his dramatic rematch victory over Josh Taylor. Prograis (29-2, 24 KO), on the other hand, was looking to rebound after a shaky split decision against Danielito Zorro and a subsequent one-sided defeat to Devin Haney. The clash of styles between the two fighters promised to be intriguing, and fans can now look forward to their showdown in a couple of months.
