OTX, Top Rank, and Julius Ballo Announce Co-Promotion Deal
OTX, Overtime Boxing, and Top Rank have announced a groundbreaking co-promotion deal for Team USA standout Julius “JuJu” Ballo. This marks the first collaboration between the two leading promoters, who will work together to guide Ballo’s boxing career and enhance his growing social media presence.
Ballo, a San Diego native managed by James Prince, will debut as a featherweight on a future OTX event, with the date yet to be revealed.
“As OTX continues to expand, we’re focusing on fighters who can captivate audiences both in the ring and on social media,” said OTX GM Brandon Rhodes. “Partnering with Top Rank was an easy decision. Their legacy and expertise in boxing combined with our ability to connect with a younger, digital-first audience is a perfect match.”
“Julius Ballo is a remarkable young fighter with the talent and charisma to become a star,” said Top Rank Chairman Bob Arum. “We’re excited to team up with OTX, a forward-thinking company that excels in engaging the next generation of boxing fans.”
Ballo, who represents the next generation of fighters, is eager to launch his professional career with this powerful partnership. “OTX has built a platform for the future of boxing, and with Top Rank’s prestige, this is the ideal team to help me reach the top,” said Ballo. “I’m ready to bring a fresh energy to the sport.”
Ballo enters the pro ranks after an impressive amateur career, including a gold medal at the National Golden Gloves in May. He also claimed victories at the USA National Championships in 2021 and 2022 and won gold at the 2021 Junior Pan American Games in Colombia. Notable wins in his amateur career include defeating Top Rank’s Steven Navarro, 2024 U.S. Olympian Jahmal Harvey, and undefeated puncher Jhon Orobio.
With this new co-promotion, Ballo is poised to make a big splash in the professional boxing world.
