Tim Tszyu (24-1, 17 KOs) suffered a narrow split-decision loss to Sebastian Fundora on March 30 after an incidental elbow in round three opened a deep cut. The son of Hall of Fame boxer Kostya Tszyu, Tim had an impressive 2023 campaign, earning world champion status at 154 pounds. Along the way, he secured victories over former world champion Tony Harrison, Brian Mendoza, and former title challenger Carlos Ocampo. Hailing from Sydney, Australia, Tszyu made his U.S. debut in March 2022 with a unanimous decision win over U.S. Olympian Terrell Gausha. On October 19, Tszyu faces unbeaten contender Murtazaliev (22-0, 16 KOs), who is eager for his first title defense.
