The highly anticipated boxing match between the legendary former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson and YouTube star-turned-boxer Jake Paul,Friday, November 15, at AT&T Stadium. The main event will be broadcast live on Netflix at 8 p.m. ET.
Originally set for July 20, the fight was postponed after Tyson encountered a health scare on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles on May 26. Following medical evaluation, Tyson was advised to take a short break from training. According to MVP, Paul’s promotional company, this precautionary rest period has allowed the fight to be rescheduled for a new date.
Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs), from Brooklyn, New York, became the youngest heavyweight champion in history at just 20 years old when he knocked out Trevor Berbick in the second round in 1986, securing the WBC title in Las Vegas. Known as "The Baddest Man on the Planet," Tyson went on to unify the division, adding the WBA and IBF titles to his resume in 1987. He successfully defended these belts six times before famously losing to James “Buster” Douglas by a 10th-round knockout in 1990.
Jake Paul (9-1, 6 KOs), from Cleveland, Ohio, now residing and training in Puerto Rico, began his professional boxing career in 2020. He built a streak of six consecutive victories—four by knockout—primarily over former MMA fighters. Despite suffering his first professional loss in a split decision against Tommy Fury in February 2023, Paul has since rebounded with three consecutive wins, including a first-round knockout of Ryan Bourland in March.
The Tyson-Paul bout will be an eight-round professional match, with each round lasting two minutes. Both fighters will wear 14-ounce gloves, and the bout will be sanctioned by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations.
