Adrien Broner, set to take on Paulie Malignaggi on June 22nd at 147, looks as though he may be heading down to 140 after the fight. Many fans and critics protested a Broner-Malignaggi fight when it was first made due to the stacked weightclass at 140 that Broner would be skipping to jump to 147. However, Golden Boy owner Oscar De La Hoya recently stated that Broner will most likely move down to 140 after the Malignaggi fight, and perhaps planning on throwing him into the small tournament that Golden Boy has going on that features Matthysse, Garcia, Judah, Peterson, and Khan. Broner is expected by many to make easy work of Malignaggi on June 22nd, which is why the fight was unpopular to begin with. If that happens then Broner moving down to 140 would match up him up against some very good opponents that could help sky rocket his career and make some very exciting fights for the fans.
