Golden Boy President Oscar De La Hoya took to Twitter to announce that undefeated power punching Keith Thurman (23-0, 21 KO’s) is willing to travel to the UK to face newly crowned IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (33-0, 22 KO’s). De La Hoya even said that he was willing to go to the UK to face Brook.
“Talked to @KeithThurmanJr last night and said he will go to the UK and challenge @SpecialKBrook”- Was Oscar De La Hoya’s tweet.
Thurman had been held back from a return due to a small shoulder injury. He’s expected to return any time after September. Thurman’s team has been also been having a hard time finding anyone willing to face the dangerous puncher. Brook is looking for a huge UK fight against Amir Khan which they may try to make next depending on many factors. If not, Thurman would be a great matchup.
