Alexander Povetkin made a statement Friday night in Moscow as he decimated heavyweight contender Mike Perez in one round dropping him three times. Perez didn't stand a chance right from the opening bell in a fight that lasted all of 90 seconds
Povetkin's domination puts him first in line to face undefeated US WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (33-0, 32 KO's)in what is now one of the division's most intriguing match-ups. Povetkin improves to 29-1, 21 KO's with his sole loss coming at the hands of the dominant Wladimir Klitchsko. Perez falls to 21-2-1, 13 KO's.
