There was some concern from the fans and media about the seven day weigh-in for the WBC middleweight title fight between Miguel Cotto and Danny Geale this Saturday night at the Barclay's Center. The WBC mandates a 30 day and 7 day weigh-in for it's title fights. Cotto weighed in at 163.6 seven days before the fight while Geale weighed in at 167.5. The fight weight is 157. Cotto's high weight is little of concern, though for the Martinez fight his 30 day weigh-in was 160. Danny Geale's weight however has concerning as some think that he may be in trouble come fight night. Even if he were to get down to 157 which he likely will, the question arises of how his performance will be come fight night having to drain all that weight is such little time. Fighter's are known to blow up ten to fifteen pounds overnight however Geale has been fighting at middleweight for a long time and hasn't had to worry about coming in lower than 160 in years.
