Nicholas Walters stripped of title, fails to make weight

Nicholas Walters couldn't make 126 at a second attempt on the scales for his scheduled fight against Miguel Marriaga. The fight is still on for tomorrow night at Madison Square Garden however Walters has been stripped of his title. Walters came in at 127.6 for the fight, 1.6 lbs over the weight limit for the featherweight division. Walters was given 2 hours to lose the extra weight however he was unable to do it. Walters was stripped of the title with Marriaga still able to win it should he defeat Walter's tomorrow night. The fight is scheduled to go live on HBO at 9pm EST
