Jessie Vargas Appeals Loss to Timothy Bradley Jr

Jessie Vargas has filed a formal appeal with the California State Athletic Commission over the controversial ending of his unanimous decision loss to Timothy Bradley Jr. The fight took place June 27th @ the StubHub Center in Carson, California. Referee Pat Russell mistakenly called the fight with seven seconds remaining in the 12th because he mistook the 10-second bell for the final bell. At this moment Jessie Vargas had Bradley VERY hurt and it looked as if Bradley was going to be knockout. For the record Bradley was winning the fight be a wide margin, scores: judge: Kermit Bayless 115-112, Max DeLuca 116-112, Rocky Young 117-111.

If the commission decides to hear the appeal, it would not be until the next commission meeting, which won't be until late August or early September.
