Jones Jr. KOs Watkins in six - Litzau draws

Roy Jones Jr. (62-8, 45 KOs) scored a sixth round KO over Eric Watkins (12-10-2, 5 KOs) on Sunday night at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut. Watkins was a late step in and gave 100% effort but simple not enough for the multi-division champ Jones Jr. Watkins had his moments attacking Jones but the classic hand speed of Jones was too much for him to handle as the fight went on into the later rounds. A left hook on the chin in round six laid out Watkins to end it. Time was 2:59. Jones now has fights scheduled on August 29 against Danny Santiago (33-7-1, 19 KOs) in Sint Maarten and on September 12 against Tony Moran (15-6, 5 KOs) in Liverpool.

Lightweight Jason “The American Boy” Litzau (29-3-1, 22 KOs) and Hylon Williams Jr. (16-1-1, 3 KOs) battled to an eight round draw. In his first bout since 2012, Litzau pressed the action against 2008 Olympic alternate Williams in an entertaining fight in which both fighters had their moments. Scores were 77-75 Williams, 76-76, 79-73 Litzau.
