David Lemieux will be looking to shock the boxing world on October 17th when he takes on the most feared man in boxing, Gennady Golovkin. The IBF champion of the world is confident in his ability to pull off the upset when he steps into the ring with the man they call GGG. Lemieux is considered one of the hardest punchers in the middleweight division. It's possible he's the most powerful puncher from the 154-168 weight class other than Golovkin. When the two take the squared circle on October 17th the only thing that's guaranteed is fireworks from the time it starts till the time it's finished.
"Golovkin has not faced a fighter like me before. I am an aggressive fighter and I am confident in my abilities. I feel that I will be successful on Oct. 17.
"It means a lot to have Oscar and Bernard here with me today. I feel like I am stepping on their footsteps on my way to something great, on my way to become the next great world champion. They are a great example to me, I respect their career and the men they are."
Oscar De La Hoya, Lemieux's promoter, believes that his fighter can come out victorious on fight night.
"Yes it is not an easy one but is a fight that David can win."
