Most people thought GGG won the fight easy, even HBO Harold Letterman had the fight 116/112 for Gennady Golovkin. The scores by Adalaide Byrd 110-118 are completely off base. If you look at the official scoring you will see that she gave Canelo the 1st two rounds and the last three. No difference then the other judges. What's interesting is that she only gave GGG two rounds, 4&7. Thing is, GGG landed more, threw more, and backed his opponent up the entire fight. Literally everything judges look for so now the question remains, what was Judge Adalaide Byrd watching?
Honestly 115-113, 116-112, for GGG were reasonable scores. If you were being biased, or generous, to Canelo then you could find a way to do 114-114. Then the fight would end in a majority decision. In boxing a majority decision means two of the three judges agree on which fighter won the match, while the third judge scores a draw.
