Manny Pacquiao shook the boxing world yesterday with a surprise announcement that didn't involve an exhibition boxing match or circus boxing act. Pacquiao won't be fighting an eight round exhibition nor will he be taking on any YouTubers. The 42 year old welterweight champion will be squaring off against one of the best pound for pound fighters in Boxing, and fellow champion Errol Spence Jr in a 12 round title fight. The fight will take place on August 21st at a venue to be announced in Las Vegas, NV. Fox PPV has take up the rights to the fight.
Pacquiao hasn't fought since his victory over undefeated Keith Thurman in July of 2019. Spence Jr has only had one fight since July of 2019 when he defeated Danny Garcia in December. Odds for the fight have not been released yet however, it's believed that Spence Jr will open up as a favorite.
