Keyshawn Davis to face Esteban Sanchez on April 30

Keyshawn Davis has a new date for his next clash.

Norfolk, Virginia's Davis will face Texas-based Mexican Esteban Sanchez (18-1, 8 KOs) on April 30 in Las Vegas. The bout will take place on the undercard of the Oscar Valdez-Shakur Stevenson junior lightweight title unification at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

ESPN was first to report the story.

Davis (4-0, 3 KOs), a junior welterweight, was initially scheduled to face Sanchez this weekend on the Top Rank on ESPN card headlined by undefeated super middleweight prospect Edgar Berlanda. However, Davis was forced to withdraw due to a non-COVID-19-related illness.

This will be Davis' second bout since receiving his Olympic silver medal. Furthermore, this will also mark his second bout since he and his brother, Kelvin, inked with Top Rank.

Davis initially qualified for the 2020 Olympic Games after winning a spot in the 2019 trials. However, he was disqualified from Olympic participation in June 2021 after violating athlete selection procedures. Five months later, despite already competing in three professional bouts, Davis, along with Duke Ragan, who also captured a silver medal, and Troy Isley, were added to the team via international allocations.
