April 27th Bout: Ramirez to Face Barthelemy, Ortiz Jr Takes on Dulorme on DAZN

Reportedly, Golden Boy Promotions is preparing for a significant event on April 27th, as per Mike Coppinger's report. The headline bout will feature Jose Ramirez against Rances Barthelemy in Fresno, airing on DAZN alongside Vergil Ortiz Jr versus Thomas Dulorme. Additionally, Joseph Diaz Jr will face Oscar Duarte and Marlen Esparza will take on Gabriela Alaniz.

Ramirez (28-1, 18 KOs) holds the No. 7 spot in ESPN's rankings for the 140-pound division. The Olympian enjoyed four successful title defenses and unified belts before facing Josh Taylor in a decisive championship bout in May 2021, where he suffered his only professional defeat.

Now 31, Ramirez has competed just twice since that loss. His most recent victory came in March 2023, where he secured an 11th-round knockout against Richard Commey. The upcoming bout against Barthelemy will mark Ramirez's 11th appearance in his hometown of Fresno, including his last two fights.

Barthelemy (30-2-1, 15 KOs) boasts a decorated career as a former two-division champion. Despite being 37 years old, the Cuban fighter hasn't competed in a title fight since his decision loss to Kiryl Relikh in 2018.

In his last match in May, Barthelemy secured a majority decision victory over Omar Juarez, following a sixth-round TKO loss to Gary Antuanne Russell in July 2022. As for Dulorme (25-6-1, 16 KOs), he has faced three consecutive defeats and hasn't fought since a first-round knockout loss to rising star Jaron Ennis in October 2021.

Dulorme's recent record shows only one win in his last six bouts. The 34-year-old Puerto Rican fighter will step into the ring after a career-long 30-month hiatus.
