Turki Alalshikh, Chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, has been instrumental in elevating the nation’s presence in the boxing world. In a strategic move to further this ambition, Alalshikh recently acquired Ring Magazine, a publication renowned as “The Bible of Boxing.” This acquisition is part of his broader vision to revitalize the magazine and expand its digital footprint, including the development of a dedicated streaming service for boxing events by 2025 as he announced in Twitter, with a plan to stream fights off the website in 2025, apart from his Riyadh Season Events. The RingTV streaming service will start with some U.S and UK fights.
Alalshikh’s plans for RingTV aim to provide boxing enthusiasts with unparalleled access to high-profile matches, exclusive interviews, and behind-the-scenes content. By leveraging Ring Magazine’s esteemed legacy, the streaming platform is set to become a central hub for boxing content, catering to a global audience.
In line with this vision, Alalshikh has announced an ambitious lineup of boxing events for 2025, set to be featured on RingTV. Notable plans include:
• Riyadh Season Events: A series of high-profile matches in Saudi Arabia, featuring top-tier fighters and championship bouts.
• Global Expansion: Plans to host events in various international locations, including a potential card in Africa by 2025 or 2026, further solidifying the global presence of Saudi Arabia’s growing influence in boxing.
By integrating these events into RingTV’s streaming schedule, Alalshikh aims to offer subscribers front-row access to some of the most anticipated boxing matches worldwide.
This strategic acquisition and the development of RingTV underscore Alalshikh’s commitment to transforming Saudi Arabia into a global hub for sports and entertainment. By revitalizing Ring Magazine and launching a dedicated streaming service, he is poised to enhance the accessibility and popularity of boxing on an international scale.
