Delgado vs. Rodriguez: High-Stakes Junior Welterweight Showdown Set for April 5 in Las Vegas

Mexican Olympian Lindolfo Delgado and Dominican contender Elvis Rodriguez are set to clash in a pivotal 10-round junior welterweight bout on Saturday, April 5, at the Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

The highly anticipated fight will serve as the co-feature to the heavyweight main event between rising contenders Richard Torrez Jr. and Guido Vianello. The full fight card will stream live and exclusively on ESPN+ in the U.S.

Also on the card, undefeated Cleveland-born lightweight sensation Abdullah Mason will return to action in a 10-round showdown against crafty southpaw Giovanni Cabrera.

Promoted by Top Rank, tickets will be available starting Friday, February 28, at 12 p.m. PT via Ticketmaster.com.

“This is a real fight between two top contenders who know a title shot is within reach,” said Top Rank Chairman Bob Arum. “Lindolfo and Elvis are highly ranked and fully aware of the stakes. Abdullah Mason is making a quick turnaround and will be in the lightweight title discussion sooner than people realize.”

Delgado vs. Rodriguez: A Defining Moment

Delgado (22-0, 16 KOs) has steadily risen through the ranks since turning pro in 2017. After signing with Top Rank in 2021, he made headlines by upsetting then-undefeated Omar Aguilar in 2022. His momentum continued into 2024 with dominant wins over Carlos Sanchez and Jackson Marinez.

"I've overcome every challenge that’s come my way," Delgado said. "April 5 will be no different. Elvis Rodríguez is tough, but beating him puts me in the world title conversation. I promise to put on a great performance and bring a huge win home for Mexico."

Rodriguez (17-1-1, 13 KOs) gained attention with an impressive run in 2020, going undefeated in the Top Rank Las Vegas Bubble. After a loss to Kenneth Sims Jr. in 2021, he rebounded with a series of wins, including a knockout over former world champion Viktor Postol. He re-signed with Top Rank in 2024 and has since recorded back-to-back 10-round decision victories.

“I’m motivated for this fight, which is why I'm working harder than ever," Rodriguez said. "I know this is the kind of fight that can change the course of my career. On April 5, we’ll make the most of this opportunity and walk away with my hand raised.”

Mason Looks to Continue His Knockout Streak

Mason (17-0, 15 KOs) is quickly emerging as one of boxing’s brightest prospects. In 2024, he delivered five knockout victories within four rounds or less. The 20-year-old southpaw started 2025 with a statement win, stopping Manuel Jaimes in the fourth round.

Now, he faces his toughest test yet in Cabrera (22-2, 7 KOs), a slick and experienced fighter with past wins over Rene Tellez Giron and Gabriel Flores Jr. Cabrera is looking to bounce back from losses to Isaac Cruz and William Zepeda.

"In 2025, I want all the smoke," Mason declared. "I respect Giovanni Cabrera for accepting the fight, but he’s the next one on my way to the world championship. I look forward to making a statement on April 5 in Las Vegas.”

With major title implications and must-watch matchups, April 5 promises to deliver an electrifying night of boxing at The Palms in Las Vegas.
