Undefeated Junior Flyweight Erick Badillo Signs Co-Promotional Deal with Sampson Lewkowicz & TM Boxing

Top-ranked junior flyweight contender Erick Badillo (17-0, 8 KOs) has taken a major step toward a world title shot, signing a co-promotional agreement with renowned boxing promoter Sampson Lewkowicz and Mexico-based promoter Eric Ibarra of TM Boxing.

Currently ranked #2 by the WBC and #8 by the WBA, Badillo turned pro in 2018 and made a statement in March 2024 by capturing the WBC Silver Light Flyweight Championship with a fifth-round TKO victory over previously unbeaten Neider Valdez Aguilar (13-0-2). Known for his relentless aggression and punishing body attack, the 29-year-old Mexican standout last fought in November 2023, securing an eight-round unanimous decision win over Miguel Angel Herrera.

Eyeing a World Title Shot

With his new promotional backing, Badillo is now focused on achieving his ultimate goal: a world championship showdown against either WBC champion Panya Pradabsri or WBA champion Erick Rosa.

“I thank Mr. Sampson Lewkowicz for this incredible opportunity,” said an excited Badillo. “I am also grateful to Eric Ibarra, my co-promoter, for his unwavering support. This is a big step in my career, and I am ready for the challenges ahead. I believe 2025 will be the year I become a world champion!”

A Bright Future Ahead

Lewkowicz, famous for discovering hidden boxing gems, believes Badillo is on the verge of international stardom.

“This is a very talented young man who will soon be known worldwide as one of the best in his division,” said Lewkowicz. “With Eric Ibarra’s dedication and expertise, we are committed to securing Badillo a world title shot in the near future.”

Ibarra echoed that excitement, adding, “This signing proves the strong relationship and trust between Sampson and I. Expect great things from Erick Badillo!”

With his undefeated record, power, and relentless style, Badillo is poised to make a serious impact on the junior flyweight division—and a world title opportunity may not be far away.
