Thurman Obliterates Jarvis, Sets Sights on Tszyu in July Showdown

Keith Thurman took down one Australian opponent—and now he’s aiming for another. The former unified welterweight champion ended Brock Jarvis’ night in the third round of their super welterweight headliner at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion.

Returning to the ring for the first time since 2022, Thurman (31-1-1, 22 KOs) landed a left hook to the body in the final minute of the third round that visibly hurt Jarvis (22-2, 20 KOs). Sensing his moment, Thurman followed up with a right hand before firing off a four-punch combination. The last shot, a left uppercut, floored Jarvis.

Although the Australian managed to beat the count, Thurman quickly closed in with a pair of heavy blows—a right cross and a left hook—that sent Jarvis back to the canvas. The referee waved the fight off on the spot, handing Thurman the stoppage.

Afterward, the 35-year-old Thurman called out Tim Tszyu in his post-fight remarks. George Rose of No Limit Boxing, who promoted both Tszyu and the Thurman-Jarvis card, had previously told Fox Sports Australia that Tszyu vs. Thurman is being planned for July 6 on the Gold Coast. Before any of that can happen, Tszyu must first handle business against Joey Spencer on April 6 in Newcastle, Australia.
