Miguel Cotto announced earlier today that his rumored super fight against Sergio Martinez is officially a done deal. Cotto and Martinez will square off on June 7th at Madison Square Garden. The fight will be televised by HBO in a Pay-Per-View event. For weeks negotiations have commenced between team Cotto and Martinez to make this fight happen. Numerous roadbloacks blocked the way however both sides were able to reach an agreement. The fight will be held at 159 pounds and will be for Martinez's WBC middleweight title. Martinez is coming off a very close win over Martin Murray, a fight where Martinez looked average in. He's been out of the ring since last April due to injuries. Cotto is coming off a impressive win over Delvin Rodriguez but hasn't won a big fight since defeating Antonio Margarito in 2011. Since the fight began being discussed its been on of the most anticipated match-ups of 2014 among the boxing fans. Madison Square Garden is sure to be a great atmosphere considering the match is taking place one day before the Puerto Rican day parade.
