Just hours after news of Richard Schaefer's departure from Golden Boy was announced Floyd Mayweather's adviser Leonard Ellerbe told ESPN that Mayweather will also be leaving Golden Boy Promotions. The news came to no surprise as Mayweather has always said that his loyalties lie with Schaefer and that he would not work with Golden Boy anymore if he wasn't there. Mayweather has been working on a fight to fight basis with Golden Boy Promotions since he became a free agent after Top Rank. Ellerbe said that this will not effect Mayweather's future with Showtime.
