The HBO PPV fight between Miguel Cotto and Sergio Martinez produced an underwhelming 350,000 buys. Bob Arum told ESPN that they had been projecting anywhere between 475k-600k buys for the fight.
Arum blamed the entire PPV market for the poor performance. In the past few months all of the PPV buys have been down including that of Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather. Arum went on to point out that there were to many PPV fights going on and that even the UFC isn’t doing great numbers.
